Head of Litigation Services

Michael Wilcox focuses his practice on civil litigation, appellate advocacy and the assertion, defense and procurement of intellectual property rights.  After obtaining his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and history, Michael spent ten years as a Post Graduate Researcher and Staff Research Associate with the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Davis.  Michael's research there included work with monoclonal antibodies as part of a cancer therapy research project. While attending the University of California, Davis School of Law, Michael served as an intern for noted evidence expert Edward J. Imwinkelried and performed research for the texts: Scientific Evidence, McCormick On Evidence, Wigmore On Evidence.  Michael also served as a legal extern for the Honorable Randall R. Rader, currently the Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. Michael’s work at the Court included preparing bench briefs and draft opinions on patent, trademark and administrative cases.  After graduating from law school, Michael became a patent litigation associate with McDermott Will & Emery and practiced with that firm for four years. Thereafter, Michael practiced intellectual property and general business litigation with McDonough Holland & Allen, Bullivant Houser Bailey and his own firm, Harvey & Wilcox. Michael has represented clients before the Ninth Circuit and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal as well as in state and federal courts throughout the country.  Outside of work, Michael participates in competitive masters rowing with the River City Rowing Club.  He also skis, hikes and hangs out at coffee shops.  Michael currently lives in midtown in a hundred year-old Victorian cottage with his Fiancee Darcey and three cats.
